Did y’all read in the news a while back about the hiker that was backpacking in Utah and got snowed in by a freak blizzard? Somehow, in his efforts to keep himself alive, he managed to catch and kill, and eat a California Condor!
It worked – he managed to keep himself alive long enough for the Rangers to rescue him, but they wrote him an enormous citation for killing this endangered animal.
The Judge in the case, of course, commuted the sentence because of the life-or-death nature of the situation, but unable to leave well enough alone, the Judge asked the hiker, “What does a condor even taste like?”
To which, the hiker replied, “Sort of like a cross between a Bald Eagle and a Sandhill Crane.”
