Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom at Philmont Scout Ranch

Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom was a television program from the early 1960’s through the 1980’s.  Saint Louis Zoo Director, Marlin Perkins, and his sidekick, Georgia Naturalist, Jim Fowler, turned a generation of kids’ interest toward naturalism, adventure, and conservation and this still-delightful program was certainly a major influence on the kids that would grow up to be the Roaming Parkers!

Here is an episode that features another of our passions – The Boy Scouts of America!  I bet all you old Scouters out there will be getting misty-eyed when you see this perfect storm of nostalgia – The Wild Kingdom and Philmont Scout Ranch!
